Here at Eldorado Animal Clinic, we use digital radiography on your pet. Radiography (or as we used to call x-ray) is a non-invasive way of looking at and examining your pet’s internal organs such as the heart and lungs (cardiopulmonary system), the muscular-skeletal system, the gastrointestinal tract, the urinary system and the reproductive systems. Digital radiographic image quality is much higher than old film x-ray, and is environmentally friendly because there are no chemicals to contaminate water systems. With digital imaging, we can get results within a few seconds following exposure, and this reduces the amount of time your pet is away from you in the exam room, and allows us to diagnose your pet faster. Digital radiology also decreases radiation exposure to your pet since we can manipulate images on a computer without having to retake pictures.
Digital radiography is also convenient in that we have a computer record of your pet's images, and we can email images to specialists, and even create a CD.
